Hannah Marcinowicz gave the UK premiere of Venture, for Soprano Saxophone & Piano, at King’s Place London, for the 2015 Women of the World festival. Tragically, Hannah, her husband Jonathan Goldstein (a successful composer) and their baby daughter lost their lives in an air accident in August 2019. It is with great sadness that I often think about them, and I just hope that contributions from sales of this piece can play a small part in honouring their legacy.
To honour the memory of Hannah Marcinowicz, Jonathan Goldstein and their daughter Saskia, Hannah's family have set up a special Marcinowicz-Goldstein Royal Academy of Music Award. This award will recognise musical achievement in both saxophone and composition, and will provide financial assistance to music students who may otherwise not be able to afford to study at the Royal Academy of Music.
